What Is Deborah Sampson Accomplishments

PORTRAIT OF A HERO: David Purley.

Sometimes not enough to be just a simple friend of someone, not just simply say you know, you're my friend , also have to be brave enough to give life that friend, for that someone that you have become part of your family without your parent itself.
.
.
This is the story of a man was Formula 1 racer back in the early '70s, when races were all a risk and not had all the safety equipment or the commissioners of roads were sufficiently trained to cope with disaster situations and had no appropriate equipment.
.
.
Let's see who was David Purley ...
.
.
was born in England a January 26, 1945, the son of a wealthy family good, in fact his father owned the company LEC refrigeration, he grew up and became a soldier in the British Army as a paratrooper, after this was done race car, that was his life.
.
. Eventually
met another runner named Roger Williamson (right), befriended him, and the two became inseparable, even on the slopes of course there was some rivalry in the other they loved.
.
.
This episode I'm going to relate occurred many years ago, in 1973, to be more specific occurred July 29, both ran in the Dutch Grand Prix was the ninth race calendar date, all left the starting line according to how they had been on the grid positions, all there was adrenaline and excitement for riders and spectators alike.
.
.
And then it happened, Williamson's car blew a tire is causing it to crash into the retaining wall and then roll over because of the speed by moving to crawl about 280 yards to stop, because of this fuel tank was drilled and the sparks did the rest, the car caught fire, Williamson was also trapped and injured, could not escape this hell.
.
. Williamson
ran behind his friend Purley, seeing that he did not think twice, stopped his car and ran like banshees to reach what was left of the celestial body of his friend, tried to turn it over, but could not come, but some commissioners were not anything to help, even one of these commissioners brought a fire extinguisher which ironically could not operate, had to be Purley who will use it while listening to the screams of Williamson cried to his friend David for heaven's sake, get me out of this! , people in the stands was horrified, saw that the only one trying to do something for Williamson was Purley, the marshals and a Dutch police officer did not help much.
.
. Purley
screaming and slapping was trying to help him turn the car, someone said they could not because of the clothes they wore, there was no fire, even the Dutch police made a pathetic attempt to douse the flames ground kicking the car, when those flames grew more Purley tried to leave and let the firefighters who had not yet come to do their job, Purley did not want to leave, his friend died, suddenly ceased to hear him scream ...
.
. Fire
The car finally arrived ... too late, the flames had burned to Williamson, Purley while weeping bitterly as only men do not want anything, just wanted to be near his friend, watching him die and that absolutely no one's ever done for help was for him something traumatic.
.
.
The sad thing is that not only the commissioners did nothing, the race was as if nothing happened, no other driver stopped, no one seemed to mind that.
.
. Time passed
, David Purley he came to recognize this enormous act of heroism upon being awarded the George Medal, but never on such a personal tragedy made for a time while cars ran on until he left in 1985 died in a plane crash.
.
. Thus
with broad strokes he was David Purley, a man who by his friend was about to give life, moved me to see the video of that race and accident, I leave to the consideration and fórmense an opinion on how is loyalty to a friend.
